An Important Message from our Executive Director about International Day of Persons with Disabilities
International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021
Since 1992, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, promoted by the United Nation, has been annually observed on December 3rd. It is celebrated around the planet. The observance of this Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, and well-being of persons with disabilities.
On this day, we are reminded of our responsibility to better understand disabilities and promote the rights of persons with disabilities in our communities, workplaces, and neighbourhoods. We have gained tremendously from integrations of persons with disabilities, in all aspects of life, and we celebrate their abilities and gifts.
In line with this year’s theme Chip and Dale supports the” Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities towards an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable post-COVID-19 world”
This Quote is our goal:
“I wish for the world that views disability, mental or physical, not as hindrance but as unique attributes that can be seen as powerful assets if given the right opportunities”, quote by Oliver Sacks.
